RIGHT TO KNOW
Act 3 of 2008 is Pennsylvania's new Right-To-Know Law. On December 15, 2008, the Vernon Township Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2008-9 which establishes the procedure by which Vernon Township will address requests made to it for records under the Right-To-Know Law which took effect January 1, 2009. The purpose of Vernon Township's Open Records Policy and Act 3 is to provide access to public records of Vernon Township, to preserve the integrity of the records of Vernon Township, and to minimize the financial impact to the citizens requesting public records. More information on the law can be found at the Commonwealth's Office of Open Records (http://www.openrecords.pa.gov/documents/rtkl/rtkrequestford.pdf).
